ChromeOS and the Chrome Browser–version 88 and newer–have been experiencing issues with the Captive Portal Login required to connect personal (non WRDSB) devices to the WRDSB Signup network.

When login fails, a blank webpage will appear after entering credentials to authenticate to the network, and you will not be able to use the internet.

All efforts are made to ensure these instructions and resolutions will work on personal devices, however all devices are different, success may vary.

Chromebooks

At this time, logging into WRDSB Signup on Chromebooks is not possible. Alternative work arounds are:

More information will be posted when a resolution is found.

Windows and macOS

If you are using a Windows or MacOS device, the captive portal login page for the WRDSB Signup network will work with the Firefox and Safari web browsers. At this time it is still not possible to login with the Chrome browser.

To use one of these alternative browsers:

    1. Ensure the browser is already installed on your device
      • If not, you can install a browser using the WRDSB Wireless network
    2. Connect to the WRDSB Signup network
    3. Minimize the window that pops up requesting login
    4. Open a window in Firefox or Safari
    5. Navigate in that window to wrdsb.ca
    6. This will open the Login Portal window automatically for the WRDSB Secure network
    7. Login as normal, with your WRDSB PAL username and password

Certificate install

As an alternative to the WRDSB Signup network, a certificate can be installed on your device to access the WRDSB Secure network.
