Why multiple Networks?

  • WRDSB Staff and Students is an encrypted network and used for all staff, students, and shared devices that have been authenticated with a WRDSB account
  • WRDSB Wireless is our legacy network that will be mainly used for provisioning devices and very basic Internet activity. It will remain open, but limited in resources

WRDSB Staff and Students

  • Internet access is restricted to material with business or educational value
  • This network is available at all WRDSB sites
  • When available, this is the recommended method for accessing the WRDSB Wi-Fi networks
  • Does not require daily sign-in
  • WRDSB devices need to be connected on first use

WRDSB Wireless

  • Open Wi-Fi network, available at most WRDSB locations
  • Internet access is restricted to material with business or educational value
  • Internet access is further restricted; sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook and Twitter are unavailable
  • No username or password is required to connect to this network
