To make the most of your AVD experience, you can look at the tips below on how you are using your Chrome Browser, how your Chromebook is performing, or how your Internet/Wi-Fi is working.
Chrome Browser Performance for AVD
It is recommended that you use your Chrome Browser (not Safari or other browsers) to run AVD from the host device (i.e. Chromebook, laptop, PC, MacBook, Tablet).
- On your host device, close any Chrome Browser tabs you are not using. Instead, use the Chrome Browser in AVD and open any tabs you may need through there.
- End any video conferencing (Example: Google Meet) and video streaming (example: YouTube) on the host device.
- If you are instructed to use Google Meet while using AVD on your Chromebook, you have a few options:
- Run the Google Meet from AVD (Note: your webcam will not work)
- Use a second device, like a smartphone or tablet, to join a Google Meet
- If you need your webcam and would like to work off your Chromebook, you can follow the tips here to Optimize Meet for Slow Internet | Tech@Home Chromebooks
- Even after following these tips you could have trouble with your Chromebook or Internet. Please take a look at the additional links below.
