All efforts are made to ensure these instructions and resolutions will work on personal devices, however, all devices are different, success may vary.

Connect to Wi-Fi

  1. Select the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar
  2. Connect to the WRDSB Staff and Students network

  3. Choose Automatic from the Mode: dropdown
  4. Enter your WRDSB Username and Password and click Join
    • Students: WRDSB Username is the first part of your email before “@wrdsb.ca” (e.g., smithj1234)
    • Staff: WRDSB Username is your PAL Username
  5. In the Verify Certificate window, ensure the server name is cppm.wrdsb.ca, then select Continue
  6. A window verifying changes to the Certificate Trust Settings will open; enter your macOS User Name and Password, then select Update Settings

    This is the username and password to login to the MacBook, which is likely different than your WRDSB username and password

Your device will now connect to the WRDSB Staff and Students network

It will take 30-45 seconds for your user information to be validated. Some websites or resources may not load until this is complete (e.g., YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

Set preferred network

Setting the preferred network ensures that the MacBook will connect to the WRDSB Staff and Students network over other networks available on site.

  1. Open System Preferences > Network
  2. Select Advanced in the bottom right of the window
  3. Drag the WRDSB Staff and Students network to the top of the list
  4. Select OK
